Azerbaijani club Qarabag achieved a thrilling victory over their Portuguese hosts Benfica with a score of 3-2, in the match that took place at the Estádio da Luz, as part of the first round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League for the 2025/2026 season.

Benfica started the match strongly, opening the scoring early in the 6th minute through Enzo Parinshia, following a corner kick expertly executed by Sudakov, and the Portuguese team extended their lead with a second goal in the 16th minute by Vangelis Pavlidis.

However, Qarabag managed to reduce the deficit in the 30th minute through Leandro Andrade with a powerful shot, before equalizing in the 48th minute through Camilo Duran.

In the 86th minute, Oleksiy Kashtchuk scored a dramatic winning goal for the Azerbaijani team, snatching three valuable points.

With this victory, Qarabag occupies the fourth position in the standings with 3 points, while Benfica is in the 32nd position without any points, awaiting the rest of the round's results.
