Enrique: This is what we want in the Champions League, and we deserved to win
Sunday 14-09-2025
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique appeared at a press conference after winning 2-0 against Lens in the fourth round of the French Ligue 1.

The coach said: "It was a special match after the international break, and at the same time, we took the opportunity to dedicate this victory to Presnel Kimpembe. We dedicate this win to him; he has been an amazing player, and I believe we deserved the victory."

He added: "Things were complicated because we had to make changes due to injuries, and it was difficult at the beginning. We had to adapt to what happened on the field."

He continued: "The competition that everyone loves, the Champions League, is approaching. We know our ability to adapt, and we have to think about responding as a team. I am calm and hope we can get through this phase. We have to accept the situation; this is the world of football at the highest level. We prepared for the match in a certain way, and we had to distribute minutes among the players and look at the bigger picture."

He added: "We want to bring happiness back to our fans in the Champions League, and I hope Wednesday will be a beautiful day for us."

Regarding the match against Atalanta, he said: "I have different options, and it's not the right time to announce who will play. I have confidence in the entire group. We have many players capable of playing in more than one position, which is a positive thing. We have to accept that and work on improving the team."

He also clarified: "It was a complete match, and we knew it would be difficult."

He emphasized: "For a long time, I have been thinking with the coaching staff about how to improve performance. I watched rugby coaches follow matches from a different perspective. I watched the first half from the stands, and it was amazing! It's different because you can control everything, and this is an exciting idea that I might use in the future; you can give a perfect talk with the players because you see who was the best on the field, and this gives you a lot of positive information. As for the second half, I watched it normally."

He concluded about Parkula's role with the team: "He will have the same usual role. He is a very important player and is always present with the French national team. He has quality and speed, and he is a different player, and we are very happy to have Bradley with us. He performed at a very high level last season, and this is a special time for him and for us."
