Teodor: I Don't Know If We Deserve to Win, And Adzic Has Something Rare
The head coach of Juventus, Igor Teodor, expressed his happiness with the thrilling win over Inter Milan with a score of 4-3, in the third round of the Italian league, noting at the same time that the match was crazy and he was not confident that his team deserved the three points.
Teodor said: "It was a match full of goals and twists, and in the end, we are very happy to win against a big team that has high quality. We are satisfied, but we must not forget that this was the third match, and we still have 35 more to go."
Regarding the last-minute winning goal by Vasily Adzic, he added: "We have been working with Adzic for the past five or six months because we believe in his quality. We tried to adjust some of his habits that we did not like, and he has shown a great mentality. We noticed this week that he is in good shape, and we thought about bringing him in. He has a rare long-range shot in football, and he should take this goal as motivation to work harder."
On the team's performance, he continued: "We were not at our best in terms of pressing, especially at certain periods, but the spirit of the substitutes helped us turn the result around. I don’t know if we deserved to win, or if a draw would have been more fair, but that’s football."
Regarding the tactical changes, he confirmed: "The idea was to play with a diamond formation in the midfield with Yildiz behind Vlahovic. We did not apply the pressure as we should have, and we were quickly retreating back. Yildiz found some spaces behind the striker, which is an idea we can repeat in the future. We have three strikers, and we need to think carefully about how to utilize them for maximum benefit."
On comparing today’s match with his match against Inter as a player in 2002, he said: "The feelings are different, but looking at how the match went, it was a truly wonderful match full of emotions. It was a crazy match."
