The historic top scorer of the Algerian national team, Islam Slemani, is preparing to start a new chapter in his football career after terminating his contract with CR Belouizdad.

According to Algerian-French journalist Nabil Jelit via the French newspaper L'Équipe and through his official account on the platform 'X', Slemani is expected to arrive in Romania tomorrow, Monday, to complete the procedures for joining CFR Cluj.

Despite reaching the age of 37, 'Super Slim' continues to prove that age is not a barrier to his passion for football, as he has remained present at high competitive levels, thanks to his rich experience and long career in the most prominent global leagues.

The Algerian striker has moved through notable stages: from Algeria to Portugal, then England, Turkey, France, Belgium, and Brazil, before choosing to embark on a new experience in the Romanian league. He has previously defended the colors of major clubs such as Leicester City and Newcastle in England, Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, Monaco, and Olympique Lyon in France.

Slemani has a record of 47 goals in 102 international matches, making him the all-time top scorer for the Algerian national team. His legend was not only built on numbers but also on his fighting spirit and decisive goals that etched his name in the memories of fans.

His anticipated transfer to CFR Cluj indicates that his career has not yet reached the finish line, and the veteran striker is still determined to provide new moments of brilliance and creativity on the green pitch.
