Thursday 04-09-2025
Spence, the 25-year-old Tottenham defender, is preparing to write his name in the history of English football, as he is on the verge of becoming the first Muslim player to participate with the England national team.

The English star confirmed in press statements his pride in this achievement, saying: "It's amazing, I can't find the words to express it. If I can achieve this, anyone can achieve their dream, regardless of their religion. You just have to believe in yourself and work hard."

He added: "Faith has played a big role in my career. In the toughest moments of my life, I always believed that God was by my side. And when I achieve victories, I never forget God's grace and always thank Him."

Spence's career has seen many challenges, as he started with Middlesbrough, then moved to Nottingham Forest, before joining Tottenham in 2022. He then had several loan spells with French club Rennes, Leeds United, and Genoa, before returning to Tottenham in 2024.

Spence praised coach Thomas Frank, who has instilled confidence in him recently, saying: "Thomas Frank is amazing, he fills me with confidence and always supports me. I think he will be a great addition to the club."

The England national team will play against Andorra and Serbia in the European qualifiers for the World Cup on September 6 and 9.
