Spanish media reports have revealed the reasons behind the failure of the transfer of Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos to Marseille during the recent summer transfer window.

According to the reports, Ceballos had reached a full agreement with Marseille to join them, but the French club decided to withdraw from the deal after the player demanded additional commissions for his mother and sister.

At the same time, Dani Carvajal, the captain of Real Madrid, revealed that Xabi Alonso spoke with Ceballos and asked him to stay, saying: "Xabi Alonso asked Ceballos to stay at Real Madrid."

Ceballos struggled to secure a starting position at Real Madrid due to fierce competition for his position, as well as multiple injuries, which led the player to consider seeking a new experience outside the royal club.
