Senegalese defender Khalidou Koulibaly explained the details of his conversation with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, the former Napoli player and current Galatasaray player, after the latter inquired about the atmosphere of Saudi football during the ongoing summer transfer window.

Koulibaly confirmed in statements to the newspaper 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' that Al-Hilal had made an official offer to sign Osimhen this summer, but the Nigerian striker ultimately decided to choose a permanent move to Galatasaray.

The former Napoli defender mentioned that he personally communicated with Osimhen, where the latter asked him about the status of the Saudi league and Al-Hilal, and he made sure to present a positive image of the club and Saudi football in general.

Koulibaly added that despite his positive remarks, Osimhen clarified that Galatasaray's project aligns more with his aspirations and future ambitions, in addition to being the best option for his family, confirming that he made his decision with complete conviction.

The Senegalese defender also emphasized his respect for his former colleague's decision, wishing him success in his new experience, noting that the final choice was based on the player's personal vision for his upcoming sports career.

Koulibaly concluded his remarks by asserting that there is a distorted image among some about the Saudi league, while the competition has now included globally renowned names, such as Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, reflecting the significant development in the league.
