The German club Bayer Leverkusen announced on Sunday that it has officially signed Moroccan international Elyas Ben Sghir during the ongoing summer transfer window, in a deal worth 30 million euros including incentives.

The Moroccan forward has signed a contract that extends until June 30, 2030, linking him to the German club for the next five seasons, in a move aimed at strengthening the attacking line in preparation for the upcoming season.

Ben Sghir, who is 20 years old, is one of the prominent graduates of the French Monaco academy, having been promoted to the first team in 2022. He has played 85 matches with the club in various competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 8 assists, which has made him a target for several major European clubs.

Bayer Leverkusen is betting on the talent of the Moroccan forward, who combines scoring ability with playmaking, to be a significant addition to the frontline under the guidance of their Spanish coach Xabi Alonso.
