Officially.. Newcastle announces the signing of Vultmaid
Newcastle United has officially announced the completion of the contract with German striker Nick Vultmaid, coming from Stuttgart, making him the fifth signing for the first team this summer, after signing a long-term contract with the English club.
The club stated: "Vultmaid, who is 23 years old, began his career with Werder Bremen where he became the youngest player in the club's history to participate in the Bundesliga at the age of 17 in 2020, before moving to Stuttgart last summer, where he excelled remarkably and scored 17 goals in 33 matches across all competitions, and he was recently crowned as the top scorer of the Under-21 European Championship."
The statement added: "The towering striker, who is nearly two meters tall (6 feet 6 inches), has two international caps with the German national team, and will join his national team camp next week in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia and Northern Ireland. He will wear the number 27 shirt with Newcastle United."
The player stated: "I am very happy to join this wonderful club. From the first contact, I felt a strong desire from the club to sign me and ambitious plans for my future. Moving from Germany is a big step in my life, but the welcome has been amazing and I feel like I am among my family. I look forward to playing in front of the fans in a great stadium like St. James' Park."
On his part, Newcastle's coach Eddie Howe said: "We are very happy to have completed the deal quickly. Nick has the qualities we are looking for to support the attack. He has high technical abilities and has proven himself in one of the strongest European leagues, and he is still young with plenty of room to develop with us."
The deal cost Newcastle's coffers 80 million euros including add-ons, marking a record deal for the English club.
