Harry Kane: We accomplished the task, and we have to adapt to this matter
Thursday 28-08-2025
The star of Bayern Munich and England international Harry Kane appeared in press statements after winning against Wiesbaden 3-2 in the first round of the DFB-Pokal.

Kane said: "I don't think the match was difficult for most of its duration, we created many important chances, but that's football; if you don't take advantage of them, you give the other team a chance, and no matter their level, they can hurt you."..

He added: "There are things we can account for, and of course, there will be a lot of talk about us because of the way we started the season, but in the end, we always focus on ourselves. We know we are not the perfect team yet, and there is work to be done, and this match showed that. But we are humble enough to admit this; the important thing is that we accomplished the task of qualifying, and we will continue."

Regarding missing the first penalty after a streak of 31 successful penalties: "It's one of those moments; it was my second penalty in the match, and the goalkeeper made a great save. I always say that penalties need preparation, and in the end, I didn't execute it the way I wanted; it was at a comfortable height for him, and of course, he saved it. So yes, executing two penalties in one match is always a bit difficult. But in the end, it's another point of work to improve on."

He concluded about taking 5 hours to return to Munich by bus: "Certainly, the situation is not ideal, but no excuses; this is part of the job, we will adapt well and prepare for the match on Saturday."
