Moroccan Deal Shakes Up the French Market

French media reports have confirmed that Lille has reached a final agreement with Scottish club Glasgow Rangers for the transfer of Moroccan striker Hamza Ighaman to the French team, marking one of the most prominent deals of the current summer transfer market.

According to the same sources, the deal is valued at around 12 million euros, making it the largest sale in the history of the Scottish club, reflecting Lille's serious intention to strengthen their attacking line in preparation for the new season.

Lille had opened negotiations to sign Ighaman back in June, and after months of discussions, the negotiations were successfully concluded, supported by the player's own desire to embark on a new experience in the French league.

Ighaman is 22 years old and previously played for the Royal Army team before moving to Rangers in 2023, where he had an impressive first season, scoring 16 goals, which caught the attention of several European clubs.

The Moroccan player is characterized by strong physical abilities and high technical skills, with the ability to play as a center forward or as a winger, providing coach Bruno Genesio with tactical diversity in the front line.

This transfer aligns with Lille's policy of blending experience with youth, especially after recently signing veteran French star Olivier Giroud, while Ighaman expressed his great happiness at joining the French club, confirming his belief in the sporting project and his desire to compete in European competitions.
