The veteran Spanish star Sergio Busquets, current player for Inter Miami, has stated that he is closer than ever to retiring from playing football, after many years of success.

Busquets said in press statements: "When I left Barcelona, I knew that I would not return to play in Spain or Europe, so today I am closer to retirement than to continuing to play football."

The 37-year-old Busquets played his entire career with Barcelona, achieving numerous collective and individual accomplishments before leaving the team for free in the summer of 2023.

The Spanish star has played 722 matches with Barça, scoring 18 goals and providing 46 assists, while playing 98 matches with Inter Miami, scoring one goal and providing 14 assists, with his contract ending next December.
