Roma Negotiates with Liverpool to Acquire Tsimikas on Loan
Roma has entered into negotiations with Liverpool to sign Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas, as the Italian club is looking for a suitable replacement for left-back Angelino in coach Gian Piero Gasperini's lineup.
According to what was revealed by Sky Sports, Tsimikas has become outside the plans of Liverpool coach Arne Slot after the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, and with Robertson in the team, which has made him the third option in his position.
Roma is seeking to include Tsimikas in a loan system, which Liverpool does not prefer, as the deal would end with the player returning next summer with only one year left on his contract, which extends until June 30, 2027.
The deal faces another obstacle related to the player's annual salary, as Tsimikas earns 4 million euros annually, which is a high figure for the salary cap in Rome, potentially requiring a financial contribution from Liverpool to cover part of the salary to bridge the gap.
