The management of Al-Ittihad Club has begun serious efforts to sign Portuguese player Bruno Fernandes, captain of Manchester United, during the summer transfer window, after Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr failed to persuade him to come to the Saudi league.

Al-Hilal had attempted to acquire Fernandes before and after the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, but the player preferred to remain with Manchester United at that time, rejecting the offer from the capital club.

Al-Nassr also made significant efforts to convince the Portuguese star, through their coach Jorge Jesus and teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, but the player was not convinced to transfer, preferring to focus on his journey with the Red Devils.

The newspaper "Sun Sport" reported that Al-Ittihad has entered the negotiations and held an initial meeting with Fernandes' agent, and the signs were positive, as the player showed openness to experiencing a new adventure in the Roshen Saudi League.

Fernandes requested a financial offer from Al-Ittihad's management estimated at £33 million annually, while also indicating his readiness to leave Manchester United if the English club wishes to benefit financially from his sale.
