Coach Eddie Howe confirmed his commitment to his Swedish striker Alexander Isak, emphasizing that the player is still under contract with Newcastle United and there is no intention to let him go during the current transfer window.

Howe said in his press conference: "Isak is under contract with us, he is our player... and of course, 100% I want him to return and wear the Newcastle shirt."

He added: "I had hoped he would participate on Monday, but he will not be able to play, which is unfortunate. However, I am still waiting for his return soon."

The Swedish striker has been away from Newcastle since the team's pre-season this summer, amid his desire to leave and move to Liverpool.

Liverpool made an offer of £120 million, but Newcastle rejected the offer and wants between £145-150 million to part with him.
