Isaac Breaks His Silence with an Official Statement
Swedish striker Alexander Isak posted a lengthy message on his official Instagram account, amid his exclusion from the team due to his desire to leave during this summer's transfer window for Liverpool.
Isak said: "I am proud that my professional colleagues chose me in the Team of the Season in the Premier League. First, I would like to thank my teammates and everyone at Newcastle United who has supported me along the way."
He explained the reason for his absence from the awards ceremony: "I was not present at the ceremony tonight, with everything happening right now, I did not feel it was appropriate to be there."
He added: "I have remained silent for a long time while others have spoken. This silence has allowed some to present their own narratives of events, even though they know it does not reflect what was said and agreed upon behind closed doors."
Isak revealed the essence of the disagreement with Newcastle management: "The reality is that promises were made, and the club has known my position for a long time. To claim now that these issues have suddenly emerged is misleading."
He concluded by saying: "When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship cannot continue. This is my situation now, and that is why I see that a change is in everyone's best interest, not just mine."
It is worth noting that Newcastle refuses to allow Isak to move to Liverpool unless a suitable offer is received, knowing that the Reds made a £120 million bid but it was rejected.
