The Spanish captain Dani Carvajal returned to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium after an absence of 318 days due to injury, where he participated as a substitute in the 68th minute against Osasuna in the first round of La Liga, celebrating his return with a precious victory for Real Madrid 1-0.

After the match, Carvajal said: "Starting well is essential. We knew we hadn't prepared enough; the team started strong but then somewhat retreated. We lacked some physical readiness to maintain the high pace throughout the match, but we hardly suffered."

He added: "The match overall was complete. We are still in a short period with the new coach, but the most important thing was to win, collect three points, and gain more ideas."

Regarding his return after injury, he said: "Today was a very special day for me. From the moment of warming up, I felt the warmth of the fans. I thank them for their support throughout these long months. I am here now and hope to deliver a good performance and achieve titles for them."

On his physical condition: "I feel that I am in good shape. As the coach said, I am working hard in training and gradually regaining my competitive rhythm. I am very happy to play my first minutes again at home where I feel a lot of love. Now my focus is on the next match against Oviedo."

Regarding his first season as captain of Real: "Being the captain of this team is the result of years of work. For me, it is a great honor and a bigger responsibility. I will try to do my part with pride and respect, and I always aim to form a strong group capable of winning titles."
