Appointment of Referee Adrian Cordero for Real Madrid vs Osasuna Match
The Spanish Football Federation has officially announced the appointment of referee Adrian Cordero to officiate the match between Real Madrid and Osasuna, as part of the first round of the 2025/2026 La Liga, which will take place at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Cordero will be assisted in the match by assistants Barsena and Judit Romano, while Juan Antonio Manrique will serve as the fourth official. In the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room, the responsibility will be handled by referee Daniel Jesus Trujillo, assisted by Isidro Diaz de Mera, while Pedro Jesus Perez will be the official match observer.
It is noteworthy that referee Adrian Cordero has previously officiated matches for Real Madrid, the last being in the 2021/2022 season against Levante, which was a match that witnessed Levante's relegation to the second division.
This appointment comes as part of the new system for appointing referees that was approved this summer by the Spanish Federation in cooperation with La Liga, where the names of referees are no longer announced days in advance as was previously the case, but are revealed only the day before the match, in order to reduce pressure on referees and prevent targeted campaigns against them.
