The management of Al-Ahli Saudi Club has begun serious efforts to sign the Swiss international midfielder Denis Zakaria from French club Monaco, as part of the club's plan to strengthen its squad in preparation for the upcoming football season.
According to British journalist Ben Jacobs, Al-Ahli is preparing to make an official offer worth 30 million euros, in an effort to convince Monaco's management to part with the player during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Jacobs noted that the French club is demanding a fee of 50 million euros for Zakaria's sale, although negotiations between the two parties have reached an advanced stage, with the player himself open to experiencing a new professional challenge in the Saudi league.
Zakaria is 28 years old and has a contract with Monaco that runs until June 2028, with his current market value estimated at around 30 million euros according to Transfermarkt.
It is worth mentioning that Zakaria joined Monaco in the summer of 2023 from Italian club Juventus for 20 million euros, and since then he has played 63 matches in various competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 5 assists.
