Erbil signs defender Haroun Al-Zubaidi from Al-Zawraa
Thursday 14-08-2025
Erbil Club announced today the official completion of its contract with the Yemeni international defender Haroun Al-Zubaidi, in a move aimed at strengthening the team's defensive line ahead of the new football season, as part of the club's plan to enhance its squad with elements capable of adding defensive stability and international experience.

Al-Zubaidi, who did not receive enough opportunities with Al-Zawraa since joining on January 24, 2025, coming from Al-Hala Club in Bahrain, decided to embark on a new experience with Erbil in search of more playing minutes and a more effective contribution in the upcoming competitions.

During his time with Al-Zawraa, the player was unable to secure a regular spot in the team's lineup, which led him to consider moving to an environment that would provide him with more space to showcase his abilities.

The Yemeni defender has an impressive record in both local and international experiences, having previously represented Al-Wahda Club and Fahman Club in Yemen, along with foreign stints that have given him extensive experience in dealing with various playing styles.

Haroun relies on his defensive solidity, good positioning, and ability to read attacks and intercept balls, which are the qualities that prompted the Erbil management and coach to include him in the project of rebuilding the team for the new season.
