Real Madrid's Plan to Sign Ibrahima Konaté
Thursday 14-08-2025
Spanish newspaper "AS" reported that Real Madrid has included French defender Ibrahima Konaté, a player for Liverpool, among its main targets for signing in the summer of 2026, in a free transfer deal, taking advantage of his contract expiring with the English club at that time.

The newspaper added that despite Liverpool's desire to renew the player's contract, the royal club, along with Paris Saint-Germain, is closely monitoring his situation.

The report explained that Real Madrid's management plans to wait until next summer to sign the player for free, especially given the unclear performance levels of the duo Éder Militão and David Alaba, while the club currently has Rudiger, Hausen, and Asensio in this position.

The newspaper pointed out that Liverpool is working to sign Marc Guéhi and Leoni this summer, which increases Real Madrid's chances of signing Konaté this summer, for an amount ranging between 20 and 25 million euros, which is the value that the royal club will not exceed in its offer.

According to the report, Konaté has already expressed his willingness to move to Real Madrid, whether this summer or the next, as he wishes to wear the white jersey, while Liverpool is doing everything possible to prevent his departure and has already begun to take action to sign alternatives in anticipation of the French defender's exit.
