Paris Saint-Germain crowned European Super Cup champions on penalties

Paris Saint-Germain won the European Super Cup title on penalties after a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the final held on Wednesday evening at the Friuli Stadium in Udinese, Italy.

Tottenham took the lead through Mickey van de Ven, following a free kick taken by goalkeeper Vicario, which was met by a Tottenham player with a header, then reached Palhinha who shot but hit the crossbar, and van de Ven followed it into the net in the 39th minute.

In the 84th minute, Cristian Romero scored a second goal for Tottenham after a free kick taken by Porro inside the penalty area, which Romero converted with a header into the net past goalkeeper Chevalier, who failed to save it.

Paris Saint-Germain managed to reduce the deficit in the 84th minute through Lee Kang-in, who struck a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area that found the net past goalkeeper Vicario, who failed to stop it.

In the 90+4 minute, PSG equalized with a cross from Ousmane Dembélé from the right side, which Gonçalo Ramos expertly headed into the net, ending the second half 2-2.

After the match ended, both teams went straight to penalties, which the Parisian club won 4-3.
