Paris Saint-Germain won the title of the European Super Cup 2025/2026, after defeating English club Tottenham Hotspur in a penalty shootout 4/3, following a 2/2 draw at the end of the regular time of the match.
After the match, Paris Saint-Germain's head coach, Luis Enrique, expressed his great happiness with his team's performance, while also praising Tottenham's level during the match.
Enrique said: "It's hard to talk about this match; we have only trained for five or six days. It's amazing."
He added: "All the fans present are always there, regardless of the result, supporting the team, and this gives us a wonderful feeling. Winning this cup and presenting it to them is special."
He continued: "I think Tottenham played a very good match; they were stronger and more prepared than us, so the confrontation was difficult, but we fought until the end."
He added: "I don't know if this victory was fair or not, but this is football; we are happy for our fans, and we must continue to improve. I always expect more from my players."
He concluded his remarks by saying: "I am happy for Choupo-Moting and for the entire team."
