Diyala Club has officially announced its signing of left-back Alaa Mahawi, coming from Al-Najaf Club, in a deal long awaited by the team's fans, to strengthen the defensive line in preparation for the new season of the Iraqi Stars League.

Alaa Mahawi is considered one of the most prominent left-backs in the Iraqi scene over the past years, possessing extensive experience both locally and internationally, having previously represented major and important clubs such as Al-Shorta, Al-Zawraa, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, and Erbil, in addition to his professional experience in the Saudi league with Al-Batin Club, which has provided the player with a qualitative addition in his career, especially in terms of tactical discipline and the ability to face difficult circumstances.

Mahawi has an impressive international record with the Iraqi national team, having played many international matches and participated in important events at the regional level, confirming his status as one of the key pillars in the Iraqi defense line.
