Union's Stance on the Saudi Super Cup Matches
Wednesday 06-08-2025
The Union Club is preparing to finalize the status of its defender Hassan Kadsh regarding participation in the Saudi Super Cup, through a series of fitness tests that the player will undergo at the club's headquarters in the coming days.

Kadsh successfully completed his rehabilitation program after returning from the Qatari capital, Doha, where he had been at the "Aspetar" medical center following a hamstring injury sustained while playing with the national team.

The injury that the international defender suffered caused him to miss the Union's external training camp, and required him to undergo treatment that lasted nearly two months before gradually returning to fitness.

According to the newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah", the results of the fitness tests will determine Kadsh's possibility of participating in the Super Cup, which will be held in Hong Kong from August 19 to 23.

On another note, Thamer Al-Shahrani, a rehabilitation expert, revealed updates on the condition of Serbian goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic, confirming that he recently returned to the field after undergoing surgery on his quadriceps tendon just two months ago.

Al-Shahrani explained via the "X" platform that Rajkovic's participation against Al-Nassr in the Super Cup semi-final is possible in terms of timing, but remains cautious, indicating that he will not be allowed to kick the balls normally.

The expert believes that the safe medical return of the Serbian goalkeeper should occur three months post-surgery, provided that he has undergone intensive training on the field for at least a month before playing official matches.

Under the leadership of French coach Laurent Blanc, the Union will kick off its season with a strong confrontation against Al-Nassr in the Super Cup semi-final, amid widespread fan anticipation regarding the readiness of its key defensive elements before the upcoming match.
