Tuesday 05-08-2025
The French club Olympique Lyon announced via its official website the signing of English midfielder Tyler Morton from Liverpool during the ongoing summer transfer window.

Morton signed a contract that extends for 5 seasons until June 30, 2030, in a deal valued at 10 million euros, in addition to bonuses reaching 5 million euros, along with Liverpool receiving 20% of any future profit in case the player is sold.

Morton is a product of Liverpool's academy, having joined the club when he was seven years old, and he progressed through its age groups until he was promoted to the first team, where he participated in 14 matches. He also had two successful loan spells with Blackburn and Hull City.

The 21-year-old English international has an impressive record at the continental level, having contributed to his national team's victory in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2023 in Slovakia, where he played in 5 out of 6 matches during the tournament.

Morton is the fourth signing for Olympique Lyon in the current summer transfer window, following the acquisitions of Afonso Moreira, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Pavel Solak, as part of the team's preparations for the new season.
