The Brazilian star Rodrigo is close to leaving Real Madrid during the current summer transfer window, amid the attacking momentum that new coach Xabi Alonso is relying on.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS", the transfer of South Korean Son Heung-min from Tottenham has opened the door for the English club to move towards signing Rodrigo, especially after more space has become available in the salary bill.

The newspaper pointed out that Son was earning 11 million euros annually, and with his departure, the Spurs management can redirect this amount towards a new deal, with Rodrigo being the top choice to compensate for Son's absence.

The report added that Tottenham's chairman Daniel Levy is seeking to negotiate with Real Madrid's management to reduce the value of the deal.

It is expected that the coming days will determine Rodrigo's final destination, amid increasing speculation about the possibility of his transfer to Tottenham to become the team's standout player after the departures of Harry Kane and Son.
