David Hanko Prefers Atletico Madrid Over Al Nassr
Slovak defender David Hanko, the new signing for Atletico Madrid, commented on the offer from Saudi Al Nassr that he received before joining the Rojiblancos during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Hanko said during the press conference on Thursday: "The Saudi offer was there, the story ended based on my desire, which is to play here. As soon as Atletico Madrid made an offer, I wanted to come here; we wanted to come to Madrid."
He added: "There was a lot of talk about the interest from other clubs, but the actual offers were not many. Two years ago, when I played here, I was very impressed; I wanted to play for one of the best clubs in the world."
When asked about the role of coach Simeone, he responded: "In recent years of my career, I have been lucky with my coaches; Cholo is one of the best coaches in the world. For me, it's a challenge; this team is at a high level, and I will work hard."
He continued: "Last year I was about to sign, but it didn't work out. I am very happy that it has been accomplished this year; I am finally wearing the Atletico Madrid shirt, and I want to train as best as I can."
He concluded his remarks: "I am very happy to join this wonderful club; this first week has been perfect for me. The stadium is amazing, and playing in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid has been a dream."
