Legal Expert Reveals Legal Loopholes Supporting Al-Hilal's Position in the Super Crisis
Sunday 27-07-2025
The sports regulations expert, Ahmed Al-Amir, sparked widespread controversy with his statements regarding Al-Hilal's withdrawal from the upcoming Saudi Super Cup, which he published on his official account on the 'X' platform.

Al-Amir confirmed that the decisions circulating about clubs withdrawing from official matches do not apply to Al-Hilal's case, explaining that previous cases were related to incomplete rosters or delays in attendance exceeding twenty minutes.

He added that Al-Hilal did not submit a player list below the allowed limit, nor did it delay its presence at the stadium, which makes its legal status completely different from the previous examples in the regulations.

Al-Amir clarified that Al-Hilal relied on a clear legal loophole in its apology, as there is no explicit text in the Super Cup regulations, or in the regulations of discipline and competitions, that specifies fixed dates for issuing the schedule or penalties for withdrawal.

He concluded his remarks by emphasizing that the maximum legal penalty that can be imposed on Al-Hilal is a financial fine and exclusion from participating in the next edition only, due to the absence of a legal text that imposes harsher penalties.
