Gomez Leaves Liverpool Camp Due to Injury
Liverpool FC announced that defender Joe Gomez has left the team's training camp in Asia after suffering an injury to his Achilles tendon.
The club stated in an official statement that the player will return to Merseyside for medical evaluation after complaining of some pain during the early days of the pre-season training camp.
Head coach Arne Slot commented: "Joe Gomez was with us during the first part of the week, but he experienced issues with his Achilles tendon. We felt it was best to assess his condition in England and work on his return under better circumstances."
The Dutch coach added: "Therefore, we decided to allow him to return, and we hope he can rejoin us as soon as possible."
It is worth noting that Gomez had missed the last three months of the previous season due to a muscle injury, while the team is currently preparing to face AC Milan today, Saturday, as part of their preparations for the new season.
