
Saudi Al-Khulood Dismisses Coach After 3 Weeks of Appointment
The Saudi Al-Khulood Club has decided to dismiss its new Romanian head coach, Cosmin Contra, after only 3 weeks in his position.
The Saudi club stated in its announcement: "The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Khulood Club, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Romanian coach Cosmin Contra, following the mutual agreement to terminate the contractual relationship between the two parties."
He added: "The club president appreciated the high professionalism demonstrated by Contra and his understanding of the club's interests, also thanking all members of the coaching staff and wishing them success in their future endeavors."
He concluded: "For his part, coach Cosmin Contra expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the management of Al-Khulood Club, headed by Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa, wishing the team continued success in the upcoming seasons."
Earlier, the Saudi newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat" reported that officials from the American company interested in acquiring Al-Khulood believe that Contra does not meet the expectations for the upcoming phase.
