Atletico Madrid Targets Hanko After Failed Move to Al Nassr
Wednesday 23-07-2025
Dutch media reports have revealed that Spanish club Atletico Madrid has made an official offer to sign Slovak defender David Hanko from Feyenoord, taking advantage of the stalled transfer to Saudi club Al Nassr in recent days.

According to the reports, Atletico Madrid intends to reach an agreement with Feyenoord for a financial value lower than that offered by Al Nassr, but it remains a significant deal financially for the Dutch club. Hanko had expressed his desire a year ago to play for Atletico, but the previous offer from the Spanish club did not meet Feyenoord's management expectations.

Juventus' attempts to sign the player also failed several months ago, while the transfer to Al Nassr collapsed unexpectedly at the beginning of this week. Atletico Madrid now hopes to capitalize on the situation and finalize the deal in its favor, especially since the player's salary will be much lower than his previous offer from the Saudi club.

Meanwhile, Feyenoord continues its preparations to compensate for Hanko's potential departure by negotiating with defenders Tsuyoshi Watanabe from Gent, Jordan Bos from Westerlo, in addition to Danish striker Kasper Tangsted from Benfica.
