Financial Hurdle Impedes Ceballos' Return to Real Betis
Tuesday 22-07-2025
Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos of Real Madrid seems to be facing difficulties in maintaining his position in the starting lineup of the royal team, which increases the likelihood of his departure in the upcoming period.

Spanish sources revealed Ceballos' desire to return to his former club Real Betis, and the Spanish newspaper 'AS' confirmed that Betis welcomes the return of its former players, but the deal faces a financial hurdle, as the club does not wish to pay large sums to acquire Ceballos from Real Madrid.

The financial aspect of the deal remains an obstacle to its completion, as Betis, which is suffering from a financial crisis, is offering 5 million euros to buy Ceballos, while Real Madrid insists on receiving 15 million euros in exchange for releasing his services.

Ceballos has a contract with Real Madrid that extends until the summer of 2027. The 29-year-old player joined Real Madrid from Real Betis in the summer of 2017 and had a loan spell at Arsenal before returning to the royal club.

Last season, Ceballos played 45 matches in all competitions, including the FIFA Club World Cup, providing two assists without scoring any goals.
