Ivorian star Yannick Zakri announced today the end of his journey with Duhok Club after spending three fruitful seasons with the team, during which he etched his name in golden letters in the pages of the club's history, having directly contributed to achieving unprecedented accomplishments.

Zakri joined Duhok on August 20, 2022, coming from Moroccan club Olympic Safi, to begin a new chapter in his professional career, which led him to become one of the most prominent professionals in the Iraqi league in recent years.

The 34-year-old star played a pivotal role in Duhok's revival, contributing with his high technical performance and extensive experience to the team's winning of two historic titles: the Iraq Cup against rival Zakho, and the Gulf Champions League after defeating Qadsia of Kuwait.

Zakri bid farewell to Duhok fans with an emotional message via his official accounts, thanking the administration, coaching staff, players, and fans.

He stated, "Thank you for every moment I lived in this club.. I will carry Duhok in my heart forever," referring to the deep relationship he built with the club and its fans over the past three years.

For its part, some local newspapers revealed that the player has received offers from Iraqi clubs wishing to sign him during the current summer transfer period, benefiting from his vast experience and consistent technical level, despite his relative age.

Although Zakri has not yet decided on his next destination, Duhok fans expressed their deep gratitude for what the player has provided and wished him success in his next step, after he contributed to bringing the club back to the podiums and restoring its lost glory after years.
