Khaled Galal, the former coach of Zamalek, commented on the retirement of Shikabala, the star of the team, confirming that the player made the right decision.

Galal said in statements to the program "Zamalekawi" on Zamalek Club's channel: "The sons of Zamalek are loyal to the club, and their criticisms at times are for the public interest, and social media has attacked the sons of the White Castle recently without justification."

He added: "What I like about the current period at Zamalek is that John Edward has succeeded in maintaining secrecy, whether in training or the closed camp, which is very good for preparing the players well for the new season, and what is happening in transfers is professional."

He clarified: "Shikabala made the right decision to retire after winning the Egypt Cup, even though we will miss him a lot on the pitch."
