Hours away from the decisive confrontation in the Iraq Cup final, Zakho Club coach Abdulghani Shahid expressed his great ambition to lead the team to achieve a historic achievement as they face Duhok team on Friday evening at the Al-Shaab International Stadium in a much-anticipated final.

Shahid stated in his remarks to the media: "We are facing a great and unique opportunity to leave a mark in the club's history. Reaching the final was not easy; it came as a result of significant work from the players, coaching staff, and administration throughout the entire season, and we deserve to be at this stage."

He added: "Duhok is a respectable team, possessing good players and a capable coach, but we have the determination and the stronger desire to win the title. The players understand the importance of the match, and the atmosphere within the camp is very positive, despite all the pressures."

Regarding the change of the match venue from Newroz to Al-Shaab International Stadium, Shahid explained: "We were on our way to Sulaymaniyah when we were surprised by the decision to move the final, which caused some confusion, but we are a professional team, and we deal with all circumstances. Our focus now is on mental and physical preparation to play the match in the best possible way."

Shahid affirmed that the Zakho fans deserve joy, saying: "These fans have stood by us in all circumstances, supporting the team in good times and bad, and today we want to gift them this great title. We promise to give everything we have to make them happy."

He concluded his remarks with a short message: "The cup final is not played every day, and this scene may not be repeated soon. We are facing a historic opportunity, and we will fight until the last second to lift the cup."
