Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos spoke to the press following the 3-0 loss in the FIFA Club World Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday evening in the United States.

The player said: "They did well to exploit our weaknesses. They put us in a difficult tactical position in the first half. Now, teams will study us closely. We need to always be at our best. They won the physical battle, especially in the first half."

He added: "We were a little below what we could offer. They were very efficient. That changed everything. We had opportunities, but we lacked efficiency."

He concluded: "The fans are always with us. We wanted to bring the title back to Paris. I regret that we did not succeed. This does not diminish the greatness of our crazy season. There were wonderful moments. I believe the fans are proud of us."
