Manchester United Complicates Roma's Quest to Sign Richard Rios
Sunday 13-07-2025
According to "La Gazzetta dello Sport", AS Roma has re-established contact with Palmeiras to negotiate the signing of Colombian Richard Rios, who is a preferred option for coach Gasperini to strengthen the midfield.

Roma has offered €25 million for Rios's services, but Palmeiras insists on a price of €30 million due to the divided ownership of the player's rights among several parties, with the Brazilian club holding 70% of the rights, while Guarani owns 14%, Fluminense 6%, and the player himself 10%.

The pace of negotiations has intensified following the entry of Manchester United into the picture, as they are seeking a replacement for their 33-year-old player Casemiro, especially given their uncertainty regarding his performance level, which complicates Roma's task in completing the deal.

This comes amid Roma's efforts to close the deal quickly before competition shifts in favor of English clubs, as Gasperini aims to bolster the team with players capable of making a difference in the midfield.

It is worth noting that Richard Rios is considered one of the most prominent rising Colombian talents, and he is Roma's primary target to strengthen the midfield during the current summer transfer window.
