Inter Milan Includes Granit Xhaka Among Its Options
Italian newspaper 'Calcio Mercato' reported that Inter Milan has started to consider signing Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka, the star of Bayer Leverkusen, as one of the alternatives to compensate for the potential departure of Turkish player Hakan Çalhanoğlu during the current summer transfer window.
The newspaper clarified that Inter sees Xhaka as a choice with significant experience and relatively low financial cost, compared to other targets such as Atalanta's Ederson, whose value is estimated at around 60 million euros. Xhaka's current price is estimated to be between 12 and 15 million euros only, making him an economically suitable deal.
The report added that 31-year-old Xhaka has an impressive record after playing a prominent role with Arsenal previously, before continuing his brilliance with Bayer Leverkusen and leading them to win the Bundesliga title under the management of Xabi Alonso.
It is worth mentioning that Milan and Juventus have previously shown interest in signing Xhaka, while Inter continues to monitor the situation of Hakan Çalhanoğlu, whose negotiations with Turkish club Galatasaray have not yet been finalized.
