Militao: This is what we missed, and I'm happy to be back playing again
Real Madrid defender Eder Militao appeared in press statements after the 4-0 loss against Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup.
The Brazilian defender said: "They entered the match strongly, and we knew they would perform at a high level in terms of intensity and pressure. Unfortunately, we couldn't match them physically, and we lacked focus as well as the genuine desire to win."
He added regarding the mistakes of Asensio and Rudiger: "Making mistakes is part of the game, and no one intends to make a mistake. All the players in the locker room were motivated, and we know well the value of players like Rudiger and the high level that Raul and the rest of the teammates provide, so everyone kept their composure."
On his return to participation after a long absence: "I feel good and very happy to be back on the field and contributing to help the team. I went through a difficult period due to a new injury to my cruciate ligament, but I worked hard to recover and come back stronger; injuries are part of any player's career, as are mistakes."
He concluded: "Xabi Alonso urged us to keep our spirits high, and although things didn't go as we hoped, it's just a stop in a long journey."
