Hossam Al-Sayed's Statements After the Loss to Duhok in the Cup Championship
The coach of Al-Minaa Club, Hossam Al-Sayed, expressed his disappointment after his team's loss to Duhok with a score of (3-1) in the quarter-finals of the Iraq Cup, confirming that the team was not at its best, while hinting at the possibility of leaving his position in the upcoming period.
Hossam Al-Sayed said: "I congratulate Duhok's team on their victory and qualification. The truth is we hoped to continue our journey in the cup, but individual mistakes and lack of focus in crucial moments cost us a lot, and this is the nature of football."
He added: "I am proud of the players despite all the circumstances we have faced this season. We tried to rise to the challenge, but there are factors beyond our control that have greatly affected the team's journey."
Regarding his future with the team, Al-Sayed said: "Every beginning has an end, and I will meet with the management in the coming days to evaluate the phase. It is very possible that I will leave if I feel the time has come, because Al-Minaa is a great team that needs a clear project and long-term stability."
He concluded his statements: "I thank Al-Minaa's fans who stood by us throughout the season, and I wish the team a better future no matter what the next decision is."
