Rashid Jaber: We Aim to Regain Victories Against Al-Minaa and Our Goal is to Maintain the Lead
Friday 01-05-2026
Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya Club held its press conference for the match against Al-Minaa tomorrow, Saturday, at Al-Minaa Olympic Stadium as part of the 32nd round of the Iraqi Stars League, with the presence of coach Rashid Jaber and striker Haitham Al-Juwaini. The conference conveyed clear messages about the seriousness of the 'Falcons' in clinching the title despite the last two draws.

Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya coach Rashid Jaber began by emphasizing the importance of the upcoming match: 'We are fully focused on tomorrow's match, and we must perform well and achieve a positive result, moving forward.'

Jaber stressed that the calculations for the upcoming match do not acknowledge the opponent's position in the table: 'Every match is important, and Al-Minaa is a good team with an honorable history, and it is one of the distinguished teams competing at the top of the standings until the last breath.' This message confirms that the technical staff warns its players against underestimating 'Al-Safana' despite their 15th place with 34 points.

The coach did not forget the role of the audience in this crucial phase: 'We thank our loyal fans who have not abandoned the team and continue to support and stand behind it in all circumstances.' Al-Jawiya is coming off two consecutive draws against Nawroz and Al-Talaba, losing 4 points, which reduced the gap with Al-Shorta to just 4 points, making the Al-Minaa match pivotal to regain the momentum of victories.

On his part, team striker Haitham Al-Juwaini confirmed that the players have reached the highest levels of readiness: 'The players are fully ready, and we must focus on tomorrow's match.'

Al-Juwaini praised Al-Minaa's recent performance after two consecutive wins against Al-Gharaf and Amanat Baghdad: 'Al-Minaa presented a good level in the last match, and we must respect it.' The Basra team regained some balance after a difficult period and is close to securing survival, although it is not mathematically guaranteed.

The Tunisian striker carried a clear message to his players and teammates: 'We must implement everything the coaching staff asks for on the field.' He also made a direct promise to the 'Falcons' fans: 'We promise our fans to deliver a match that will make them happy and joyful.' Al-Jawiya needs a win to restore the gap with Al-Shorta to 7 points with 5 rounds remaining.

Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya enters the match as the leader with 71 points, aware that a third consecutive stumble could reignite the league race. The 'Falcons' have the strongest defense in the competition, but they struggled offensively in the last two matches, which increases the importance of regaining scoring effectiveness tomorrow.

On the other hand, Al-Minaa plays without pressure after two wins that relatively returned them to the safety zone with 34 points. The Basra team is good at embarrassing the big teams on its field and had lost the first leg against Al-Jawiya 1-0 in a match that was only decided in the final minutes.
