Al-Zawraa Secures a Clean Victory Against Al-Mina
Al-Zawraa Club achieved an important victory over its host Al-Mina with two unanswered goals, in the match that took place on Sunday evening at Al-Fayhaa Stadium as part of the 34th round of the Iraqi Stars League.
The victory granted the 'Nawras' three valuable points that strengthened its position in fourth place, keeping it in the competition circle to finish the season within the top four.
Al-Zawraa waited until the second half to break Al-Mina's resilience, with Ibrahim Tomiwa opening the scoring in the 71st minute, before Kazem Raad added the second goal from a penalty in the 78th minute, securing the match points before the end.
With this victory, Al-Zawraa raised its tally to 65 points, distancing itself by 4 points from Al-Talaba in fifth place, confirming its desire to finish the season in the top four positions.
On the other hand, Al-Mina's tally froze at 35 points in 15th place, remaining in the danger zone before the final rounds. The team was unable to match Al-Zawraa's pace in the second half and appeared affected by the lack of offensive effectiveness and defensive organization.
