Spanish newspaper "AS" reported that French defender Ibrahima Konate is still waiting for an opportunity to move to Real Madrid, as he enters a crucial summer for his future with Liverpool.

The newspaper clarified that Konate, whose contract with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2026, has not yet reached an agreement to renew his contract, and has informed several agents of his clear desire to move to Real Madrid, even if he has to wait until the end of his contract to be free to negotiate starting next January.

On the other hand, coach Xabi Alonso does not see an urgent need for Real Madrid to sign a new center-back given the presence of Rudiger, Militao, Alaba, and Ramon, along with the arrival of Hausen and the brilliance of Asensio, unless there are some departures from the team this summer.
