Gonzalo excelled in the first match against Al Hilal, scoring the equalizing goal, and contributed to the victory over Pachuca, scoring a goal against Salzburg, in addition to the decisive winning goal against Juventus in the Round of 16.

It is worth noting his remarkable scoring record with the Castilla team in the Spanish First Division during the past season.

Real Madrid intends to keep the player within the first team under the leadership of Xavi Alonso, with plans to evaluate his role and performance at the end of the next season to make a decision regarding a potential loan in the 2026/2027 season.
