The veteran Argentine star Ángel Di María bid farewell to European pitches with an emotional message after the end of his journey with Benfica and officially returning to his home team Rosario Central in Argentina.

Di María concluded his long journey in Europe after his last appearance with Benfica in the 2025 Club World Cup, where the team was eliminated in the Round of 16 after losing to Chelsea 4-1.

His contract with Benfica ended at the conclusion of last season, leading Rosario Central to announce his signing and his return home to begin a new chapter among his fans.

Throughout his illustrious career, Di María played 812 matches for the clubs he represented, scoring 197 goals and assisting 278 goals, securing his name among the greatest legends of Argentine football in the modern era.
