Joan Laporta, the president of FC Barcelona, discussed several important issues concerning the club during his participation in the Koeman Golf Cup, organized by the former Dutch coach of the team, Ronald Koeman.

Regarding the future of Frenkie de Jong, Laporta said: "The renewal of Frenkie de Jong's contract is on the right track," adding: "We want him to stay for many years; he is an important player and represents a reference point within the team, as Ronald Koeman said."

Koeman confirmed during the same event, stating: "Frenkie is happy at Barcelona and wants to continue; I don't see major problems with this matter."

On the recent changes in the refereeing committee, Laporta clarified: "I am not worried; I have complete confidence in President Lozano and that things will go as they should," adding: "The changes in the refereeing committee were expected for some time, and I do not know all the details, but the president explained the reasons in general terms."

Regarding Athletic Bilbao's statement after their meeting with La Liga concerning the Nico Williams deal, Laporta said: "Every club does what it sees fit; we at Barcelona operate in accordance with the laws and take advantage of the opportunities available in the market," adding: "We adhere to the recommendations of the sporting director and the coaching staff."

When asked about the possibility of paying the release clause, he said: "I will not talk about specific players, but if a market opportunity requires paying a release clause, we are ready for that."

Laporta concluded his statements by saying: "We have nothing to hide; we work transparently and adhere to all laws and regulations. We are aware of the difficulties and obstacles, but we know how to deal with them to achieve our goals."
