The young Spanish star Lamine Yamal is preparing to receive the iconic number 10 shirt within the ranks of FC Barcelona, succeeding a number of club legends, most notably Argentine Lionel Messi.

According to a report published by "Mundo Deportivo," Barcelona's management has decided to grant Yamal the number 10 shirt, following the imminent departure of Ansu Fati to AS Monaco during the summer transfer window.

The newspaper clarified that the club plans to officially announce Yamal's wearing of the number 10 shirt on July 13, coinciding with his celebration of his eighteenth birthday, in a special event organized by the club for this occasion.

It is worth mentioning that Yamal, whose contract with Barcelona extends until June 2031, excels in playing in several attacking positions, most notably as a right winger, and has so far participated in 106 matches with the first team, scoring 25 goals and providing 34 assists.
