The public prosecutor's office for combating corruption in Spain has requested the summons of Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, and Luis Enrique and Ernesto Valverde, the former coaches of the Catalan team, to testify as part of the ongoing investigations into the Negreira case.

The Spanish network "COPE" reported that the prosecution wants the trio to clarify whether they received technical reports prepared by Javier Enriquez, the son of former vice president of the referees committee, José María Enriquez Negreira, which were a key subject in the case.

The prosecution also seeks an explanation from Laporta regarding the payments made by Barcelona to companies linked to the Negreira family during his presidency of the club, especially those related to his first term in office.

As for Luis Enrique and Valverde, the prosecution aims to determine whether the aforementioned technical reports were actually used in preparing for matches, and whether they had a direct impact on the team's preparation and tactical plans during their coaching tenures.

Barcelona has been accused of paying an amount of 1.4 million to a company owned by José María Enriquez Negreira, the former vice president of the referees committee, between 2001 and 2018, in order to provide advice to the Catalan club.
