The Union Resolves the Renewal of Ahmed Sharahili's Contract
The Saudi Union Club has reached an official agreement with its defender Ahmed Sharahili to renew his contract with the team for three more seasons until the summer of 2028, according to reports from the Saudi sports newspaper Al-Riyadiyah.
This step comes as part of the Union's desire to maintain its core players, especially after the team achieved the domestic double last season and is preparing strongly for upcoming competitions under the leadership of French coach Laurent Blanc.
It is worth mentioning that Sharahili's current contract ends at the end of this June, but the 31-year-old Saudi defender has expressed his desire to continue his journey with the Tigers, despite missing most of last season's matches due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury that sidelined him.
Ahmed Sharahili joined the Union in the summer of 2022 from Al-Shabab on a free transfer, and he is a graduate of Al-Hilal Academy, having previously played for Al-Hilal and Al-Shabab before joining the Union.
Sharahili is expected to be an important defensive pillar for the team in the new season, especially after Al-Nassr refused to sell their defender Abdul-Ilah Al-Amri to the Union.
